What happens at the door

Seven steps from home to the hall, and nothing about playing. Only what the houses state is included; for everything else, check the house's website.

Step by step

  1. Check the day and the hall

Look up the published hours for your hall and the closing days. Houses can change hours at short notice, so check the house's website.

  2. Bring a valid ID

Entry requires an official photo ID; the original, not a photo on a phone (Baden-Baden). Which documents count differs by house.

  3. Show it at reception

The house registers your details at the reception before you enter the halls (stated by Bad Dürkheim, Bad Homburg and Berlin).

  4. Entry fee, if any

Some houses charge for the classic hall (for example €2 in Berlin and Hamburg, €5 in Baden-Baden), others are free. See the entry rules.

  5. Coat and jacket

Where a jacket is required, some houses lend one (Baden-Baden €10; Bad Homburg has loan jackets). Check the dress code per hall.

  6. In the hall

You may simply look around. Bad Reichenhall states there is no obligation to play. Ask the staff if you have questions.

  7. Leaving and getting home

Know your last connection before the evening starts. See the getting-home page.
